Every time I hear the first two notes of that Norah Jones song, the hit from her first album, I immediately think of the first two notes of “King of the Road” by Roger Miller.
At which point I immediately begin wishing I were listening to “King of the Road,” by Roger Miller.
All of which is to say that, for me, Norah Jones has come to embody my disappointment about not listening to Roger Miller. Rather than the smoky-voiced chanteusse she’s often made out to be.

“King of the Road” always reminds me of my dad’s dad for some reason. His name was Arthur James Brown and he called me Stinkpot. I was his favorite.

Of all the great Roger Miller accomplishments, I rank his performance in Disney’s Robin Hood at the top. It formed a great deal of my childhood experience. And those animated characters kick the crap out of the Kevin Costner version.

What I always loved about Disney’s Robin Hood, aside from the totally hot despite being a fox Robin Hood himself, was the fact that they gave all these British characters Hazzard County accents.

Disney Robin Hood is smokin’ hot. I’d go so far as to say he’s the hottest animated character around.

He was Laura Sullivan’s first crush ever. That makes a lot of sense, knowing Laura.

Erin, I have to respectfully disagree – the Smokin’ Hottest Animated Character is Lisa Hayes from Robotech. Robin is definitely in the top 10 though.

I am so happy to hear that Lady Erin agrees with me that Robin Hood the fox was/is the hottest animated character ever. There was something about his long torso and short legs that really turned me on. (The bushy tail goes without saying.) And thanks, Miss Brown for bringing this to the attention of the general public.
