Set and match
By briantologist | June 23, 2004
Thanks for excellent suggestions, good persons. In response, can I just say how much I wish I could remember the words to “I’m Just a Bill”? That would be, like, an entire lot. Ferreal.
The Creek Indian Community Center is at 8611 S. Union, for those local schmoes interested in showing up. It looks pretty easy to get to, if not conveniently located. As far as I know I’m playing at 3:00 p.m., though I’ll either confirm or deny this as events develop. I think there’s something like a $5 cover charge. I fully understand if this is $4.87 more than you’re willing to pay for my lame ass. Though Brian Parton will be playing at some point, and he’s pretty cool.
I’m thinking of playing “Even the Losers” and dedicating it to George Bush. ‘Cuz the part about them getting lucky sometimes is, um, pretty applicable to the 2000 elections. And like everything else he’s ever done. Particularly the Texas Rangers.
I’m thinking at this point that there’s no way I can not play “Patience.” But that means at least six or so of you are gonna have to show up to do the yeeeeeeeeeah yeahs at the end.

I’d pay a full $5.50, but I’m too far away.
If I weren’t, I’d request “Refugee”, ’cause Petty squeezes in the line, “Who knows? Maybe you were kidnapped, tied up, taken away and held for ransom.”
It’s classic and priceless.

You HAVE to play “Patience”! I will be there, and I have no doubt that EVERYONE will sing along.

Yeah, there might be a revolution if you don’t play Patience. And Gallant forty twa. I love all your songs, baby.

If you can’t remember to lyrics to “I’m Just A Bill”, you could do the Simpsons parody “I’m An Amendment To Be” and change the lyrics to be about gay marriage instead of flag burning.

Um, what, the Creeks are too uppity for a little “Little Red Bullet”? ‘Cause that’s some prime Brianbyre shit right there.

Nobody’s too uppity for “Let’s Kill Saturday Night.” Nobody.

I had to read the sentence again, because I thought it said “Greek Indian” and you can imagine the corn-fused look on my face till I sorted it all out.

‘Psycho Killer’ was simply awesome my old friend. You played it off legit.
The man was right, you are beautiful and you make beautiful music with your guitar.
