Gold medalist

I’m pleased to announce that Olympic swimmer/uberhottie Inge de Bruijn is the winner of the 2004 Briantology Award for Hotness. This dubious honor places her in the company of past winners such as Darleece and Salma Hayek.
Ms. de Bruijn accepts her award earlier Wednesday.
Inge and I, I’m not gonna lie here, have had a long-standing platonic crush, as evidenced by photos like this:
… And public statements like this one, made earlier this year.
Sadly, we’ve realized we can never be together, as her career must come first, and my career as a mostly immobile person who does nearly nothing before lunch might damn well get in the way. Nevertheless, we’ll always have Athens.
Incidentally, it should be noted that, as per Darleece’s request (and my agreement; see previous entry), aquatic Aussie hottie Ian Thorpe wins the honorable mention in this year’s Hottie olympics.
We treat our athletes like our own in this household.

I love “fun with Photoshop.”
Although I must say, I’m amazed you’ve gotten through so much drooling over swimmers, male and female included, without mentioning anything about Michael Phelps’ unbelievably low pants.
I mean, is there some kind of hydrodynamic reason for this (less drag?), or is Phelps simply enjoying showing his stuff? Either way, the guy must have an astronomical waxing bill.

Phelps has low pants, but he’s generally not cute. Something about the lower half of his face is just..big.

I’m of the opinion that a crucial part of any recreational crush is a tad — just a half-cup, perhaps — of irrationality. Maybe there are hotter athletes than Inge in Athens right now, but … well, she’s just special somehow.
Plus, y’know, she really is hot.

I guess we would if they were playing by the much-repeated nude competition rules of the ancient Olympics. In between matches they’d have to have some old guy skim the layer of olive oil off the surface of the water, though.

I would like to add the name of Logan Tom to this discussion. She plays volleyball and she certainly handle the ball. (What great 8th grade humor).

Maybe there are many more better looking than her but , man, she is the world champion!!
