    Apocalycious

    By briantologist | June 14, 2005

The air was the wrong color last night. I had booze to deal with it, but before we had highly trained meteorologists to tell us why the air was the wrong color (pink instead of clearish-whitish), did everybody just freak out and assume God’s Holy Wrath was finally about to rain down on an unsuspecting public? Or did somebody in the crowd remember the last time things turned pink, when nobody died except the people who got trampled to death in the mud by the spooked mob?
The pictures don’t quite do it justice; rather than looking apocalyptic, they just make it look like the ’70s. But still.

A couple years ago the sky was orange around here. When I looked outside, the reason was that the mountain about 10 miles away was on fire.

At least the sky wasn’t green. Green sky = bad.

      So, why was it pink?

The air looked like that for a few minutes tonight after it stormed. But I’ve seen it turn pink or orange for no reason and I always think it’s pretty, until I remember it’s probably caused by pollution or some such thing.

Yeah, doesn’t green sky = tornado? I love how everything looks like the weirdly aged photos from 1976.

All that is missing is a rusting yellow Chrylser LeBaron and a primer grey muscle car across the street, on blocks.
