    Zombie

    By ELB | August 31, 2005

Ok, I’m not gonna harp on the “no sleep” thing because I knew what I was signing up for when I had my sweet baby. Usually I’m able to balance things out with a nap in the afternoon or early evening. But these last few days have been especially hard.

Monday I got an IUD, which is crazy because IUDs are totally mom style birth control, so I guess that now I’m a mom, I need to get on the bus. Well, as it turns out the bus comes with some serious achin’ and painin’. Have no fear, chitterlings, my good doctor gave me some painkillers to ease me down the road. Ok, I’m rambling. What it comes down to is I’m even more tired because I’m taking codeine.

Yes, I could skip the dolls and hurt, but I’m not one to turn down drugs. Unless, of course, they’re actual drugs. If D.A.R.E taught me anything it was that cocaine makes your heart explode, especially if it’s your first time to do it. And I saw “Trainspotting”. After that, I’m genuinely surprised that there are anymore herion addicts. Though, I should probably take advantage of all the meth available here in Tulsa. That would make those nighttime feedings a breeze.

iuds are only mom birth control in the states. in the rest of the world, everyone uses them. hell, i had one for 4 1/2 years before i ever got pregnant. with it in place. yep. my due date was friday (still waiting). thanks, iud!

(to be fair, i suppose people get pregnant on the pill all the time, and i loved my iud. no thought required.)

Sweet Valley High books taught me that there’s a good chance you will have an undetected heart problem that will go haywire the first time you try cocaine and that you will die a tragic death just like Regina (can’t remember her last name) in the book. The scare tactic TOTALLY worked on me.

Ewww. Birth control transitions suck. But it gets better. And enjoy the drugs while you have ‘em!

Regina Morrow. Her brother Bruce was the snobby rich guy.
Erin, do you want me to swing by with my entire SVH collection so you can start reading them aloud to Henry now?

Yes, I have always been afraid of my heart exploding and turning into a skinny, sunken-eyed, homeless, squatting, aids-ridden junkie. This is why hard drugs are bad!

I was bummed that I couldn’t get an IUD because i’d never had a baby—that is some bogus shit there! But my mom got pregnant on the IUD 33 years ago. I reckon it’s gotten better since then?

      I heart my I.U.D.

The cramps will subside, although expect a few during your period for the first few months. After that, it’s back to normal except without the constant headache of birth control. Yeah.

Keep a very close watch on that Mirena IUD – many women experience a *lot* of side effects. I had one for two years (I live in Germany where it has been available for ages) and had it removed because I couldn’t stand it any more. But that was just me. You may do fine with it.

      Your baby is gorgeous!

All the effective Sinus Meds are being taking off the shelf and put behind bars in Pharmacies because of the punks making Meth with them. I wonder if Meth would clear my sinus headaches….

I had the Mirena IUD put in a couple months ago – after my second baby. No cramping but my periods have gone from 5 days to 21 days with only a few days off. The things they don’t tell you!

You can’t have an IUD if you’ve never had a baby? Huh. Who knew!

I have an IUD and have never had a baby. The first time I got one, I had a ton of cramping and it…um…FELL OUT. So I went back in, and the doc said she may not have placed it correctly and that we would give it another go. The second time it was a breeze! Very little pain at the insert and no pain afterwards…my periods are normal too and I have the copper T. I highly recommend them.
