    Concession

    By briantologist | November 28, 2005

Ladies and gentlemen, I’ve fought a pathetic race, one unworthy of the tiny gem of talent I stubbornly insist hides somewhere deep inside me, presumably under several layers of fat. Toward National Novel Writing Month‘s 50,000-word goal, I have advanced 1,800 and change. I think I spent a total of four hours on it before settling into my earlier routine of general malaise and nonproductivity.

This was the big secret project thing I mentioned in an earlier post. I didn’t want to say anything for some fucking reason which has long since vanished; perhaps it was to avoid appearing to be on the bandwagon, which is of course fruitless, as apparently every schmuck with one remaining typing finger is doing it too (see the schmuck you’re reading right now).

I concede. I either don’t have the drive or the creativity or the spare time to write anything more than stupid blog posts about Shaq movies. Thank god there’s an opening for that. Your friendly encouragement has bested me, NaNoWriMo. We now return to a report on “Kazaam,” the secret star of which is Efren Ramirez, better known as Pedro. In creating that link, I think I did about one-eighth the total work I put in on NaNoWriMo. Draw your own conclusion from this.

The best part is that you can start work on your story any time, and it’ll still be incredible, since you’re an amazing writer.

      Excuses are for jerks.

God damn, I never thought of that! Fuck! And think of how awesome the spelling errors would be! Excellent call there.
