Announcement!
By briantologist | December 28, 2005
Ladies and gentlemen, there is a baby in this house who learned how to stick his tongue out today. And is really, really enjoying it.
Which balances out the fact that he’s really, really not enjoying the teething process. (I don’t blame him; from what I understand there’s not much to recommend it.) After spending the day at home with the lad, I’m now not enjoying the teething process either. It’s lousy, because normally he’s so sweet and agreeable, and while the orajel and baby Tylenol are working, he’s in good spirits. But he’s inconsolable the rest of the time, and there’s nothing either of us can do about it, and I hate to see him in pain, duh.
I dunno. Guy’s gotta have teeth, I guess.

Teeth are overrated. I’ve knocked mine out once or twice, and you know… I still manage to eat.

You’ve probably tried all the tricks like cold spoons and frozen bananas and stuff. I’ll try to think about what else my friends with babies tried to do when their loves were teething.
Poor you guys!

eh, teeth are a lifelong pain in the ass.
anyway, you don’t need ‘em to give hickeys.

I feel really bad for you. Especially because Jackson’s are popping up with no discernable difference in temperment. He must have a high tolerence for pain, as when I caught the whole top of his finger while trying to cut his fingernails, he just stared at me. Blood and all.

Been lurking a while, finally coming out of hiding.
My mom told me that her mother used to give them chicken bones to chew on when they were teething.
Give that a try.

Teething is really bad for my Henry. It makes him bite, wakes him up repeatedly at night, makes him daytime cranky… I hate teething with a white hot passion.
But, yer Henry is awful cute. And the tongue is crazy fun! I loved it once my Henry could imitate me and we would spend the day on the couch sticking our tongues out at each other. Now he imitates me by walking around with a broom pretending to sweep and he’s not even a year old. It goes too quick and not quick enough.

Most kids suck, but your kid looks like a fireball of fun. Good job!
