Anniversatating
By briantologist | January 11, 2006
It is January 11, and today H.G. “Beans” Byrne is six months old. He celebrated the occasion by getting a flu shot. He did not, from what I could tell, feel particularly celebratory about said flu shot. Man, did he ever turn red.
HGB turned our lives upside down, but then he turned it right-side up again and set it down more or less intact. I love being around him when he’s in a good mood, but I even love comforting him when he’s in a baby rage. I think the best part overall is the constant, unsullied love I feel for him. The way you love your baby is more pure and wonderful than the way you can love anyone else, and sporadically throughout my day I’ll be suddenly overwhelmed by how much I love him. It truly is like no other feeling I’ve ever had, and it’s wonderful.
Here’s to you, little man. Clearly you are the best baby ever.

Isn’t it nice that they’re made that way? I think those people that don’t understand this are just missing that gene or something. While I love little kids, MINE always will be the sweetest and cutest on earth (to ME)… and YOURS will always be the sweetest and cutest on earth to YOU. Isn’t that cool? I always enjoy reading about parents who love being parents. It’s a good feeling. Thanks for sharing. (He is a doll, really…)

I’ve got kids spread far and wide across these United States, but even I know that the best baby ever is Henry Guy.
He saved my life in ‘Nam.

Isn’t it funny, I still feel that way when my boy is crying, I just love holding him and being able to comfort him. It’s like my superpower!

Aw, happy half birthday, Henry Guy!
These kids you don’t know just grow up so fast, let me tell you.

We should make him half a cake! Or…..whatever little babies eat. Give him half a bottle! Or only one boob!
