So in the name of taking far more advantage of my soon-to-be-gone educational discount at the Apple Store, I figured I oughta go ahead and buy myself an almost completely unnecessary new computer.
And it’s fucking awesome. It can do many fucking awesome things. Here are a couple of fucking awesome things it’s done so far.

“Screaming Eagle.”
Sometimes I think I’m getting a jump on the whole unemployment process. Other times I think I am.

totally got a MacBook Pro.
I wanted to hold out for the iBook replacement that’s out, like, any fricken second now, but I caved. I had to take advantage of the education discount. And the library of free software my soon-to-be-former employer keeps for its employees!

I’m sooo jealous, how is it? I’ve been jonesing to buy one with the .edu discount as well. Do tell, which one did you get? If you got the 17″ one I will actually, literally turn green with jealousy..

I did not, in fact, go whole hog and get the 17″ model, showing that apparently that even my self-indulgence has at least some basic limits.
It’s fucking awesome, though. Seriously. The Apple Credit Account was my best friend and worst enemy at the same time when it came to this purchase.

If I win the lottery, I will send you some money so that you can lead a life of at-home luxury. But you have to trade off with Erin so she can have some at-home luxury, too.
