Query.

So on “Sesame Street” just now, Gordon just got through reminiscing about being in a power trio with Bob and Luis back in the late ’60s. In the flashback, Bob was affecting an English accent because he thought it’d give them more cred.
My question, then, is this: How is it that after like 40 years, this show is still better than 70 percent of what’s on television?
Not to slam “The King of Queens” or anything; I understand tonight’s episode is the one with all the misunderstanding.

I watched SS all the way up into my 20′s through college (while eating boxed mac & cheese & ramen, though not together). I STILL love it & that’s part of the reason I will eventually breed: to pass on the legacy of SS.

No, that’s a Seinfeld re-run.

One thing I noticed is that SS re-uses old cartoons, which I think is awesome. Sure, Elmo may be a pain in the ass, but Bert is still doin the pidgeon dance and that one poor hotel doorman is still going up all those stairs..

God, I love Seseme Street! The guy who plays Oscar and Big Bird (Carol Spinney!) was recently honored on the daytime emmy’s (why I was watching those is another story) and I cried when he got a standing ovation! BIG BIRD!!

I saw the flashback sequence this morning, too! My thought was, “Now wait, I was watching Gordon, Bob and Luis during this this time in their life and they were SO not in a band.” I freakin’ love Sesame Street… I want them to release seasons 1-5. Do you remember when they went to Hawaii? *sigh* The best. I miss Jim Henson. The new dude they’ve got writing the new songs is pretty good.

P.S. Because I’m a nerd… I just went over to PBS and shot them an email that I would buy Seasons 1-10 of Sesame Street if ever offered on DVD. Here’s the link if anyone wants to join the cause:

Dear Sweet Moley! I watched it with my kid on the DVR last night and that was some BRIGHT light they had to use on Bob’s wrinkles.

I just want to know what happened to the song “Over, Under and Through” I can’t find it on any of the classic CD’s and that was one of my all time FAVES! WHY??????? Also, let’s remind people that they must have Free To Be You and Me. If you don’t have it, you hate America.

I saw this episode- I found myself mesmerized trying to figure out if I was in a time warp or if they were dressed to look like they were rocking out in the 70′s. Couldnt agree with you more.
