    House!

    By briantologist | June 6, 2006

    We're here!

We’re on the ground floor. I swear to pete I’ll post an actual account of the move soon, especially since I am currently passed out in the bar car of the unemployment train, but man, right now I’m just so goddamn tired. Must be all that Polish sausage. Sheesh.

I am so freaking jealous of you guys I can’t even articulate it.

We have been firmly planted in Michigan suburbia since October of last year and I still tell everyone, “We recently moved here from Chicago,” because I’m just not ready to go.

Not sure what hood you’re in, but don’t rule out Evanston in the job search–right on the end of the purple line. Northwestern is a grand place to work and before moving here I was at the world HQ of the Rotary Club, also in Evanston. It was a freakishly diverse and interesting workplace.

Give Chicago a big hug from me.

hey, that’s a pretty snazzy looking building. Nice bay window and bricks. Thank God for the ground floor because I’m pretty sure those old buildings don’t have elevators! :-)

Wishing you lots of luck and lots of booze for the whole getting settled/unpacking portion of your life.

Lovely! I like the semi-circle thing above the door. Hey,do you need a butler? It looks like the kind of house where you’d need a butler. Because I’ll totally do it, I swear.

SO CUTE! i love it, I could totally see myself hauling my kid and stroller out of that door for a nice walk. I hope you love it there. Looks like Boston.

Five days into it, I’d highly recommend a move here. It’s a magnificent town. Ask me again in November, but I’ll probably say the same thing then, just through chattering teeth.

moving to chicago in summer is like moving to san francisco during the folsom street fair. you think your life from here on out is going to be all assless chaps and spanking booths and LEATHER! LEATHER! LEATHER! and then you spend five months getting rained on listening to some asshole in architect eyeglasses talking into his cell phone while ordering his nonfat latte.
