More of the goodness.

“Thank heavens,” you must be saying. “More frickin’ baby pictures!”
Well I’ll have you know there’s more to us than that. Why, here’s a picture of our first trip to IKEA!
… and the line at IKEA.
Let me tell you something, it is really, really best to visit IKEA on a day that doesn’t start with an S.
But look! Lovely matching chipboard furniture!
Bed and bedside tables to come! Soon we will have a whole room with matching furniture, for the first time in, let’s see. Ever.

I have that dresser. It’s a pretty good one. Congrats on the matching furniture. Grown-up.

Once when my daughter was younger, we went to visit my brother and she said, “Mom, look. All their towells and furniture are the same color,” As if matching was the strangest thing she’d ever seen. It was definitely new to her.

Pictures of El Beano always make my day. I especially love the ones of him looking in the mirror — my grandfather nicknamed my little sister “The Judge” because she NEVER smiled, not even at my parents. Then one day they held her up in front of a mirror and she burst out laughing. Go figure.

I keep thinking I need to stop by with a covered dish to welcome you guys to town but that would just be creepy.

I’m okay with dudette. And if it’s any consolation, our IKEA is a good half-hour away, plus twenty additional minutes lost trying to follow stupid Google Maps’ stupid stupid directions, which are stupid. Plus I shudder to think of what it’s like trying to get out to Schamburg in anything other than 10 a.m. Saturday traffic.

The only thing I miss about Phoenix is IKEA. Go on a weekday and there’s no line. I loves me some cheap furniture.

My very first visit to IKEA was in Sweden — I got to go to the very first IKEA. It was a blast. If only the meatballs in the diner were kosher… :)
