So, um, yes. In doing a brief bit of research on Manfred Mann the other day*, it came to my attention that an early incarnation of the group was called “The Mann-Hugg Blues Brothers.” Shortly thereafter it came to my attention that the only thing that could’ve topped this band name would’ve been a side project by Marvin Gaye and Mike Love called “The Gaye-Love Explosion.”
That’s all.
* — This story is significantly funnier if I do not explain why I was doing any amount of research on Manfred Mann.

Huh. He was the answer to 43 down in the New York Times crossword today, which I just finished not too long ago. I was trying to counter the effect of 2 hours of American Idol.

See, that’s crazy, because indeed, I looked MM up for a *completely different* NYT crossword puzzle several days ago! Shortz has got Mann on the brain, I’m telling you.
