“Love and Death on Long Island” was terribly disappointing. I certainly appreciated the one poster’s comment about “Dancer in the Dark”. If I’d had that bit of advice before watching it, I might have felt an ounce better afterwards. But as it was, those damn hand-held cameras make me queasy as hell, which didn’t help my disposition in the end. Beautiful movie though. “Some Like It Hot” is a favorite. Enjoy!

Am I the only one that contemplated using this as an excuse to seem brainy and committed? Or is just that, like me, everyone else moves the abominations that they’re embarrassed to admit they have on their queue (King Arthur? Really?) up to the top 10?

I think the best (lowbrow) part of Netflix is the anonymous watching of horrible, horrible movies; movies you’d be embarrassed to even be in the same section as in real life. Movies like “A Cup of My Blood” which I got because the woman that Microsoft has cast in their terrible live person search engine gets nekkid in it.

It wasn’t worth it. I knew it wasn’t going to be, but I had to know FOR SURE. Yeah, it wasn’t.

We watched that Scorcese My Voyage to Italy which forced all of these obscure and/or legendary Italian movies in to our queue. The Bicycle Thief is on 3 of the queues listed above – are we all watching the same things?

I’d be up for Some Like it Hot, but the S.O. (same one who has friggin animated batman on the list) hasn’t watched what we currently have at home in time for Some Like It Hot to get here. Of course I’ve seen it before, so perhaps I could participate in such a discussion.

Dog Day Afternoon is awesome, I say. Also I watched Serpico when I was home sick yesterday, and it’s also very good. So big ups to the Sidney Lumet/Al Pacino pics, is what I guess I’m saying here.

This “Everybody Watches ‘Some Like it Hot’” idea isn’t bad! Anybody else up for this?

I watched “Dancer in the Dark” under those circumstances. Never again. Those movies should only be watched at home in the afternoon where you can pause it and go outside and smell a flower or pet a puppy.
