    Democracy in action

    By ELB | August 26, 2007

Ok, Internet, here’s the dilly. Next weekend, Brian’s sister is getting married, thus breaking my bridesmaid cherry. Thankfully she let us choose our own dress, which turned out fine. Ah, but there is a fly in the proverbial ointment.

Not too long ago I bought these. As you might imagine, they aren’t exactly suited for members of a bridal party. Unless you’re these people, in which case, give me a minute to get my corset piercing all put together. They’re awesome and they were on sale. Ergo, I’m not spending my money on wedding shoes when I can have those bad girls instead. Even though I haven’t actually brought them home yet, as they are currently enrolled in a rigorous stretching program so as to be able to zip over my meaty calves.

Now I’m rummaging through my closet, sussing out my options. I need your help, Internet. Which of these shoes look the least bad?

Love the silver. And the red! And you. snort. And I’m sure you know how you lucked out with the ‘choose your own dress adventure.’ It is a great dress… I’ve been stuck with some bad-news gowns. So what’s the weather going to be like? Open toe? Closed toe? I think red shoes are always appropriate. And hot.

Silver is the way to go for the wedding. But I love the red shoes for everything else. Also those amazing boots are completely awesome.
Also, hi. I’ve been blog-stalking you for ages and never comment, but now I feel I have to because, Briantologist, you are my first ever Flickr contact, and for that I love you even more. Now my attempts to run into you on the street in Chicago and not be creepy when I say I recognize you shall be tripled.

      Definitely go with the silver.

The red ones are fab, but I don’t love them with the dress. The silver ones look like an outfit.

For a girl with trouble shoe-shopping, you certainly have some of the most luscious shoes I’ve seen. If you had the wherewithal to get shoes to match the color of the dress, I’d tell you to do that, just cause I’d want to see those shoes, too. You wouldn’t be one of those “ballet slippers dyed to match the dress” ladies for sure.

However, if it is between the sexy boots and wedding shoes, then you are right: clearly you must get the sexy boots! And wear the silver shoes to the wedding, because they want to go to the wedding at least as much as the bride does.

Definetly, silver. They are all lovely shoes, but silver seems more wedding-like.

      I love that dress, too.

      Silver for the wedding. Definitely.

The others are also hawesome, but the silver rocks the mic like a phantom.

Silver for sure, no doubt, absolutely.

If you do not wear the silver shoes, I will cry.

I would like you to name one single solitary instance when silver shoes are NOT the answer.

I vote for the silver as well.

      I vote for silver.
