Happy Birthday to Me! So far 33 is every bit as magnificent as 32 was, which is saying nothing at all. Though 32 was pretty good. I have no problems with 32.
If I were feeling the least bit reflective and not busy(ish) at work this morning, I’d, ah, reflect. With that out of the way, please peruse this “Best of Half-Assed Birthday Posts” post, which actually begins with a non-half-assed post from my birthday by our dear friend Ms. Sarah Brown way back in the halcyon days of 2003. (I get punched in the ear!)
August 14, 2007: Turns out I didn’t post anything on my birthday last year, which is just as well. Here’s the nearest thing I wrote, about a snack food.
August 4, 2006: … Aaaand ditto for the year before, apparently. Here’s something I wrote about filing my toe callouses.
August 26, 2005: A brief mention of my birthday here, but it also mentions a podcast I appeared on which I’m positive you won’t be able to find! Let’s go!

August 25, 2003: I’m pleased to close out this lame-ass post with a post that, impossibly, is even lamer.
So there they are. If anybody needs me I’ll be … fuck, I dunno. Doing something? Good times.

Man, from the way Sarah described your birthday, you *definitely* didn’t have a kid in 2003. And yet I can’t help thinking that it is a story you should read to your kid on HIS birthdays.

Happy 33! Double numbers are awesome. And 3 is lucky. So that makes this year, yes, DOUBLY LUCKY.
Also, now that HGB is three, you can probably teach him how to make you a drink. Sweet.

You’re doing much better than me in terms of birthday activities. On my birthday, I mostly just watch porn and avoid calls from my mother.
