In a World Without the “In a World …” Guy …
By briantologist | September 3, 2008
The 90210 premiere getting shit on by the Cubs and their stupid extra innings* isn’t the only tragedy befalling my tiny universe. Sadly, one Don LaFontaine, better known as the voice-over guy who made movie trailer voice-overs start with the words “In a World Where ______ …”, has died. He was 68. Doctors say he fought an extended battle with acute Dulcet Toneitis, a condition that causes a deep, rich speaking voice but condemns its victims to an eventual demise. I encourage you to read this obit and watch the accompanying video. Or you can just watch the damn video here. Shit, whatever.
Adios, good sir. Your wry humor and natty mustache will be missed.
* — Dude, not only did WGN bump the show ’til 10:30 in favor of the damn Cubs game, and not only did the damn game go into EXTRA INNINGS, the fricken Cubs proceeded to LOSE said game. Which means that instead of two hours of possibly promising new fall TV suckitude, we got roughly 45 minutes of the Cubs shitting the bed, followed by 1.25 episodes of the show. Balls. It’s on again Thursday night; perhaps we’ll have better luck then.

Man, now I have this compulsive urge to grab (onto) my joystick.
